The Purpose of a BMS:
The purpose of any burner management system is to allow the operator to safely ignite and extinguish the burner flame. Whether the machine owner is self-insured or under the scrutiny of Factory Mutual is irrelevant when it comes to safety.
Burner management systems must work correctly in all instances and, should it fail, it must fail safely. The National Fire Protection Association has developed stringent guidelines, which are adhered to in all of our systems.
The basics of burner management systems are actually fairly simple. It is when the customer requires additional features or diagnostic aids that the design must change; and while changing, it must continue to observe every aspect of burner safety. Results Engineering has successfully developed and commissioned many different designs without straying from NFPA and FM guidelines.
